Frequently asked questions

I was born on the boundary between two signs. Which one is mine?

The switch between signs is set by the moment the sun moves from one sign to the next, and the date shifts by about a day depending on the year. To know precisely, you need your birth year and time of birth. For ordinary profile purposes, the ranges used by this tool are fine.

Why do books and shops show different birthstones?

Because the selection differs slightly by country and jewelry organization. In Japan, the selection by the national jewelry wholesalers’ cooperative (revised in 2021 with additions) is widely used.

Can I also find my Chinese zodiac animal?

Yes — the Age Calculator on this site shows the Chinese zodiac animal together with your age from your birth date (see “All tools”).
